Dirt in My Eye

As I walked home from school in the toasty 56 degree sunshine, the wind blew. It blew hard. It kept flinging dust and other particulates which got in my eyes and stuck to my mouth. ew.

I saw this cute little idea on the blog PinkWallpaper . I love it and wanted to give it a try. My results were not as cute, due to lack of materials, but I like it for the time being.

Stripes, floral and lace. Last year I would have thought this was way too many patterns. But today, I kind of like it.

Rexburg Spring

I got in the mood to bake again. Surprise, surprise. I had these jars from cleaning out the fridge and I thought they were too cute to throw away but too much to keep around. So, I put as many cookies as I could in two jars and delivered them to some of my lady friends.

I was trying to get rid of some sugar free black berry preserves that I was not enjoying and turned it into a delicious treat. Jam filled butter cookies. They were very easy and so delicious.

For Sunday dinner Zach made another 'Diners Drive-Ins and Dives' inspired meal. Fried bologna and onion sandwiches with mustard and fries on the side. Sooo good.

This morning we woke up to a mini blizzard. It didn't stop snowing until noon. Supposedly its supposed to get up into the 50's this week. I just don't know If I can really comprehend anything above freezing anymore.

March Madness

Thursday night was McKays last game before championships and It was a blowout! 107 to 70. McKay is pretty much BYU-Idahos Jimmer.

Friday night we went to see 'Unknown' with our friends Jayci and Kolton. It was a pretty good action film but I think we all agreed that 'Taken' was the better Liam movie.
Oh did I mention we saw 'The Adjustment Bureau' last week? Well we did. It was good but way more chick-flick-y than we thought it would be.

Before the Movie Zach and I decided to give 'Picket's Bambino' a try. They are like deep fried calzones and they were pretty good.
We also got to watch a little March Madness on a real T.V.

This is my pretty cute date night outfit.
Zach is the only one that really saw it but I think he is the only one that I cared about looking good for anyway.
Yes, those waves are all natural.

Speaking of waves this is the last pick of Zach's long locks. He let me cut it off Saturday night.
I know, brave man.

Saturday night was McKays big championship game. I was a little disappointed in the turn out but we had an awesome time anyway.
Like Zach's do?

I sat next to Jayci durring the game and she is the best ever! She was more into it than any of the guys. It got me all pumped up and I had so much fun. Thanks for the 'Wild Cats' team spirit Jayci!

The Drum Line. They actually did really well. I was proud.

Cheerleaders and Dance team. No face plants this time thank goodness.

The group that was most into the game and cheering for McKay's team, The Wild Cats.

Zach's sweet style and new hair cut. Yeah, I am a little proud of my work.

The final outfit of the weekend.
A little preppy a little fishy.
Can I brag about my shoes?

Sadly, McKay and the Wild Cats did not win the championship game. It was a close game the entire time but a few bad calls were made and the last minuet of the game turned in favor of the Knights.

The Birkenstocks

 Birkenstocks.
The most comfortable shoe ever too touch the soles of Zachary's feet.

They actually looked pretty good with his outfit in neutral colors, tied in with his coordinating socks.
If any one could work them,
he could.

Can you tell I am ready for spring? Snow was on the forecast and I still went out in cuffed pants and tennis shoes.

Tuesday night I broke the rules and made a pizza. But it had spinach and a pesto sauce so it was different. Not quite the Friday traditional pizza. I thought it was pretty good with parmesan, mozzarella cheese and caramelized onions. Next time I will do more cheese and add some tomato.

Last night I remembered that I had oranges in my fridge and got in the mood for some delicious orange treat. So I found this wonderful Mennonite Orange Muffin recipe. These were delicious. I definitely recommend them to any sweet orange fans.

Snowing Again

Of course I knew it would snow again but that didn't make it any easier to wake up too! We can feel the temperature changing as we use less and less heat everyday, so it gets all too exciting thinking about spring. But we are in Rexburg and that means a few more snow falls before spring really arrives. Dang it!

This is what we wore for an early spring, devotional Tuesday. I thought we were looking pretty good.

Notice Zach sporting the double cardigan look.

I would also like to add that not all of my cloths are thrifted, and there are some things I will never buy second hand. More to come on that later. Just couldent let you all think I was finding my whole wardrobe at the D.I.

This is my brrrr, why is it so cold and still snowing face. I knew you would just love it!

As I walked home the rain/snow had stopped but these dark clouds were moving our way. Luckily they didn't stay long. The ever furious Rexburg wind pushed it right on its way.

First Official Day of Spring

This morning Zach and I leisurely got out of bed around 11 and decided on a Paige/ McDonalds inspired breakfast. Oatmeal with banana and apple.
Now that is how you start off a great day!

This is Zach's I don't want my picture taken face.  However I thought he looked awesome and took it anyway. He looked a lot better with his regular smiley face.

This is the skirt I altered last night. I now love it more than ever before!

This is also one of my favorite up-do's at the moment. Tutorial on how to get this hair do HERE

Tonight we had all of Zach's roommates, from when we first started dating, and their wives over. We had so much fun playing 'Imagine If' and talking about anything and everything. They were a really fun set of room mates and the best part is, I love all of their wives!
Can't wait to hang out again!

Sock Monkey's

You can make you're own sock monkey using directions found HERE.

This is the little guy I made tonight out of some worn out socks. It took some time but it was pretty easy to make.

I woke up to this yesterday morning,
Zach has class at 9 on Fridays and I don't have my one class until 2 so I tend to sleep in. Anyway, this absolutely made by day.

Thursday night I got the notion to make meatball calzones. All was going well until we visited our neighbors and there adorable 6 day old baby. When we came home the apartment looked pretty smokey. The oil in the remaining meatballs pan decided to burn so it smoked our calzones. Oh well they looked good and tasted alright. I will definitely have to retry these.

Chopping off the Locks

As I have watched the split ends multiply and the hair that ends up stuck to my clothes and the inside of the vacuum, I have felt inspired to chop it all off.
While in Montana a few weeks ago we watched 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps' with Carey Mulligan. I can't say I have ever been the biggest fan of the pixie cut but she looked amazing!

So now I am definitely going to cut my hair, once it gets warmer of course, because my hair is like another scarf.
I just don't know how.

I really like the short bangs on Carey but I am so not feeling confident about chopping off all of my hair. I am ready for somthing new, I have done short hair before but it was like 6 years ago.

So any suggestions for this girl who is way too in love with her own hair?
