Walking

Anna has finally decided she prefers walking to crawling. While she did take her first steps at 10 months I'd say she really started walking at 11. She loves to carry things around and to bring us her toys just to show off and practice her new skills. I love watching her grow.

Bath Hair

Anna's hair is getting so long in the back, however the sides are still a little thin. She basically has a baby mullet, but I just can't get myself to cut it, to even it out. We tried little pig tails, and though she didn't like me pulling her hair, they actually lasted all day. So, until I get up the courage to cut it, pigtails it is!

BBQ in the Avenues

Last week we got to enjoy a perfect summer evening with some of Zach's co-workers at a BBQ in the Avenues. There was so much good food and lots of hilarious stories that kept us laughing for quite a while. Anna was adorable and stole the show as usual. She loved playing in the ice, handing out drinks, and playing on the blankets.

The Antlers

We take our concerts very seriously. A few weeks ago we got to see Yellow Ostrich open for The Antlers. Both groups were really good but The Antlers were incredible. Zach said it was his favorite concert so far. It was pretty incredible to hear them live. I like their music but live is an amazing experience that takes their sound to a whole new level.  If they come back to SLC we definitely recommend going.

Aunt Julie's Birthday

Last week I got to meet up with a bunch of my cousins on my mom's side, that I haven't seen in years. Everyone had gathered for my Aunt Julie's birthday. All of her kids and grandkids were there, as well as my Lee cousins and a few other aunts and uncles. I absolutely loved seeing everyone again and getting acquainted all over again. I was surprised to learn how many of them lived so close and how much I really enjoyed them. They are all quite a bit older than me, but I think the older we all get, the smaller that gap feels...or maybe that's just me hoping I fit in with such mature and successful people. I sure loved seeing my family, now I'm in the mood for a real reunion.

The 4th of July

After getting clean from our camping trip, we enjoyed some classic American burgers, fries and hotdogs. Once we'd finished eating way to much we made our way to Sugar House Park for a fun firework show. Anna acted like she couldn't care less about the fireworks, as she would rather crawl all over everyone, but she did clap after the grand finale. She definitely wasn't afraid of the lights or the loud sounds. Maybe we have a little thrill seeker on our hands.

We definitely enjoyed our Independence Day in all-American fashion. Hope yours was worth remembering too!

In-N-Out and Liberty Park

A few Saturdays ago we finally took a tour of Liberty Park in SLC. It was impressively large, with multiple playgrounds, picnic areas, lawns, an aviary, tennis courts, a pool and a splash pad. The only downside was that they didn't have baby swings, so Zach had to take one for the team. Which he was obviously very torn up about. We had a good time and ended the day with a fabulous burger from In-N-Out. It's no Corner Bistro burger but, it's a good cheap eat.
