All About Anna

Anna is one, almost two. She has 16 teeth that help her to share her stories and eat even more delicious food. She loves cheese, cream cheese, yogurt, buttered toast, cheesy eggs, milk, juice, chicken nuggets, french fries, milk shakes, pizza, candy, mac-n-cheese, edemame, apples and berries... She hates anything that we try to feed her ourselves. She is very independent and likes to do as much as she can on her own. She has no fear of thunder, lightening, loud air show planes, fireworks, sparklers, or anything that I know of yet... she loves wearing boots and picking out her own clothes and shoes. She likes to take her shoes off to play or ride in the car.  She is an excellent nap taker. One day as I was laying down next to her for a nap she rolled over, put her arm on me and whispered "I like your dress". I laughed and said "Thank you". She responded "You're welcome" before rolling over to doze off. Her imagination and stories fascinate me. I am blown away by what she understands and comprehends. I am constantly being reminded of what an amazing child we have by those around me. She is kind, good natured, gentle, and happy. It has been so clear to me that very little of this disposition has to do with me. She came with a very specific spirit with its own unique spiritual traits and it at incredible to see her grow and develop. I am truly grateful to have Anna as my daughter.

Anna's Friends

Anna loves her boy friends. She gravitates towards boys and seems to get along with them better in general. She gets so excited when she sees Taylor and CJ. They are such good friends and  nothing makes me quite as happy as seeing her making friends and playing happily.

Steak N' Shake

I love Steak N' Shake. We used to go about once a month when we lived in NYC and I have missed it. Dare I say I like it more than In-N-Out? As we drove through Vegas we considered stopping at the Shake Shack but when we saw a sign for Steak N' Shake at a location farther away from the heart of the strip if felt like a no brainier.  Ha. Can you tell we were traveling with a 1yr old?

Newport Beach

We had a few hours on Sunday to head to the beach and meet up with my friend Amber. It was much colder than I anticipated and so Anna had a hard time enjoying anything more than the sand. We didn't last too long before we went hunting for a warmer place to visit and sat around a yummy warm pizza. I am always so happy to visit with good friends and to hear about the good things they are doing. I am so proud to call Amber my friend and I am so proud of all the things she is doing. Anna is surrounded by great examples and I couldn't be happier.

Zankou Chicken

As many of you know, we love the Food Network, and food in general. We watched an episode of The Best Thing I Ever Ate all about garlic a while back and they raved about this garlic dipping sauce. It looks like butter and tastes like a creamy buttery sweet garlic spread. It is made of pure garlic, nothing else, and its amazing. The chicken, pita, hummus, and vegetable were so delicious as well. As an added bonus it was only two blocks away from the LA Temple. Next time in you're in LA its definitely worth a try, you won't regret it!

Dinnell Reception

Awesome reception! There was a delicious dinner of rice, beans, and chicken, topped with pico de gallo.  And similar to Anny and Ben's wedding it was a total dance party. Anna found a little friend to play with when she got tired of dancing. When he had to leave she wandered out to the dance floor looking for him and it just about broke my heart to watch her standing there alone trying to figure out where her buddy had gone.
To send the couple off on their honeymoon, to San Diego, we lite sparklers and lined a path. I thought they might make Anna nervous but she loved them. I am constantly surprised by her bravery.
