New York Festivities

This is the view of 6th Avenue from Zach's office in Midtown.  This is where the Thanksgiving day parade would have gone by.

The stars hanging in the mall at Columbus Circle. It was pretty fun to watch. They did a lights dance to a song every 30 minutes.

Happy last day of 2012 everyone!

Macy's

We had to check out Macy's. We thought about waiting in line to see Santa but with it looking like an hour wait at the least we decided to snap some quick pics and head back into the cold to see more window decorations. From what we saw it was pretty festive.

Happy Friday everyone!

St. Patrick's Cathedral at Christmas

Walking around the city we visited St. Patrick's Cathedral. It was all decked out for Christmas mass. It really felt like the perfect place to be on Christmas Eve. If it wasn't so packed I would have been tempted to get tickets for that night.  It was beautiful.

A Studio Apartment Christmas

We spent our Christmas sleeping in, eating blueberry muffins, Skyping with family, and opening gifts. We had so much fun seeing Brock's face for the first time in a year and a half.
After enjoying our virtual family hang out we headed to Long Island City for an amazing Christmas dinner and visiting with our cousins.
We had a fabulous Christmas here in New York and are looking forward to our long New Years weekend.

Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas

After being late three days and three conclusive tests later, we figured it was true. We still couldn't fully believe it was real until we got the, "Congratulations," from the doctor a week and a half later. Even after that, we were filled with inexpressible feelings ranging from fear to giddy excitement. Gratefully when the doctor asked if I wanted to keep the baby I was able to answer with a definite "yes." While we might have moments of fear and doubt at our ability to raise a child, we know that this is what we should be doing at this point in our lives. I don't know that I will ever feel ready to be a mother, but I think I feel a little more up to the challenge every day.
At my first ultrasound, on week ten, I was able to see the baby for the first time. It was the first time I really let myself feel the reality of it. I looked up at the screen and felt the tears instantly cover my face. I could barely thank the doctor for the handful of tissues she handed me. From the front it literally looked like a gummy bear with out the ears. (So stinkin' cute!) From the side I was able to see the rapid heart beat. It is living and growing so much every day. Now at week 12 our little gummy bear is about the size of a lime and all of its little parts and organs are starting to work. We are already so proud of our new addition and can't wait to meet this little spirit.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Date Night with the McCrery's

We went out with our good friends Bill and Stepp last Saturday for a little double date action. We headed out to Brooklyn with the purpose of enjoying some Ample Hills ice cream and discovered this delicious Mexican place in the process. Chavela's, was inexpensive with high quality food and service. Our mason jar glasses were never empty and we even received a complimentary piece of flan. We will definitely be returning. Oh, and Ample Hills, it lives up to the hype. Filled with unique flavors for all taste buds, the quality is obvious in the flavor, texture and the film of cream it leaves on your tongue. The night was a win with great food and even better friends.

May you all be having a wonderful Christmas eve!

Oh, Christmas Tree...

After our day on the town and a fabulous ward Christmas party we decorated our tree. We enjoyed listening to Christmas music while we did it. We are pretty pleased with our first tree. While it's not real, our Glade candle sure fools our senses.

Happy Thursday everyone!

Leafless in Inwood

I always enjoyed how while walking up the hill to the Cloisters, I almost felt like I was able to get lost. Now with all of the leaves gone, it's easy to see how close we really are to the museum, and how impossible it would be to get lost up there. We do love this view as we walk our groceries home.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Saturday in the City

We enjoyed taking in the beauty of the city that was all decked out for Christmas. We were able to finish our Christmas shopping and try out our new camera. We are just a tad excited about that new addition to our lives.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Montana in Manhattan

Montana was obviously on our minds this week.  We saw our buddy (Zach's cousin) Caleb, who was visiting his sister here in NYC.  I truly enjoyed having this truck parked outside my office.
Glacier National Park equals heaven on earth.

Happy Monday everyone!

Picture Time

We've been kind of lame about taking pictures lately, so I've decided to recycle some of my favorites from the past couple of months. Enjoy!

Happy Thursday everyone!
