This is Bill Cunningham. He is known for taking pictures of beautiful people and fabulous fashions. It is a guarantee that he will be looking to shoot what ever catches his eye and that means he will be at any and all big fashion events. Of course he was roaming the streets of NYC on Fashion's Night Out.
Our last stop of the night was to Bergdorf Goodman. We ohhed and ahhed over all of the amazing $400-$1300 shoes and the stunning $3,000 + ball gowns. As you can tell this is the kind of place Zach and I find ourselves shopping often.
Walking out of BG we heard someone mention Bill Cunningham's name and we both turned to investigate. Sure enough, there he was waiting at the entrance and snapping away. We were shocked that he didn't even give us a second look when we approached. Obviously we are incredibly fashion savvy and model-esque.
We asked if we could take a quick picture with him and he said, "yes, but make it quick". And of course he was looking at his camera to make sure everything was ready for any beautiful person that might be in picture taking distance. We were just so pleased that we got to meet him and see him in person. He has a passion for beautiful things, and I respect what he does, and that at his age he goes out and does this all the time. He is good, and I was not the least bit offended by not making the cut, though I might have been if I was wearing my Louboutins and custom Vera Wang.
There is an amazing documentary on him that does a great job showing off his work and this city we love. We definitely recommend it for a good wind down show for the night.
