A Funny Story

After watching The Dark Knight Rises we pushed our way through the crowds at Times Square to get to the B train, and then finally to our home bound A train. We have had many encounters with crazies, you know, the ones who talk and whisper profanities to  themselves? Or the money makers who put on a dance or vocal performance and bring the hats around or the ones dressed up in the most outrageous styles. This was different and brought out my most immature side. Usually I am good about not laughing out loud but this time I couldn't help myself.
We got on the train and after a few stops could not take our sideways glances of a couple to our right. They looked to be in their 40's and neither was wearing a wedding ring that I could notice. The man leaned over and started kissing the side of her face. He started right above the ear and worked his way up along her hair line. The whole time she was sitting there with fluttering eyelids and, an uncomfortable for the rest of us. relaxed look on her face. This went on for a couple of moments and the girls next to us noticed the man remove his glasses and reach his arm around her to kiss her mouth. The girls next to us could not believe it, saying things we were all thinking. The funny thing was how loud these girls were. They were staring and laughing and all the wile the couple kept right on at it apparently not hearing a word.
At this point the couple looks like two awkward teenagers making out in the back of someones car. Really, just like fresh, never been kissed, teenagers, making out for the first time. They went back and forth for a while switching between kissing each others faces and embracing for a full make out sesh with arms awkwardly wrapped and legs still facing forward.
I could not believe it, and like the girls next to me, I could not stop laughing. The whole thing seamed so outrageous. Two adults, making out on a crowded train, looking like middle schoolers.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

It was one of those moments where I couldn't stop starting but it was sooo gross to look at. Yes. Uncomfortable was definitely the word.
