Memorial Day

Memorial Day, a day with family and a break from the normal routine.

A time for cheesy, yet creative decorations.

Campouts in the backyard.

Eight layer jell-o and more food than you could possibly eat in one sitting.

A time for patriotism.

A time for handsome husbands to grill delicious meat on the BBQ.

A day for enjoying family and remembering family that is no longer with us.

A day for winning a game of croquet for her first time.

A time to eat and remember Grandma's delicious jams, apple sauce, rice pudding and all other sorts of things we miss about her.

I might not have been the best at taking time to be meditative and thoughtful, but the flowers that everyone else laid on the graves of loved ones was breathtaking. The flowers stretched on for what looked like miles at the Larken Cemetery. It was so beautiful that we had to stop and admire the beauty on our way home.

Thanks to all of those who have sacrificed so much so that we can enjoy our freedom.

Hope you all had a memorable Memorial Day.
Happy Saturday everyone!
