Christmas in Montana

We enjoyed getting out of our little college town for the holidays as we headed to lovely Montana.

Erica did a lovely job decorating the house and getting us all in the holiday spirit. Before Christmas rolled around we got to do a lot of fun food prep. We made turtles, Oreo mint truffles and home made caramel for dipping apples. Zach made a cheese cake and Erica made amazing breakfasts and dinners every day. Zach and I decided we gained at least 5 pounds each.

On Christmas Eve we had a fun Allen family get together. We enjoyed a lot of good food and opening presents from Buck and Bev.

Christmas morning was so exciting. We woke up and had a delicious breakfast followed by stockings and then Christmas present opening. Zach and I ended up with great stuff from awesome people with excellent taste.
The day after Christmas was our family picture day.
The year of cowboy boots and mustaches.

We had a lot of fun on New Years as well. Unfortunately I didn't document our fun ho-down evening. We danced from 10:00 to about 12:30 in the AM to live country music. An excellent way to bring in the new decade.
The roads in Montana got a little crazy at times. So crazy in fact that when a deer stepped out in frount of our car one night we ended up stuck in lots of snow off the opposite side of the road. Luckily it didn't take much to pull us out and the deer, its deer buddy and the car were fine.
The wind caused crazy drifts all over and created some pretty cool looking roads. Leave it to the Californian to get excited about snow drifting across the road.
After the great vactaion we had to head back home for work and school.
Time for another great day at BYU Idaho.
