Well folks, it's official. We packed up our little apartment and our baby Anna to head west. The whole shebang happened in less than two weeks.
Wednesday - Zach had an interview with a company in Salt Lake
Thursday - We were extended a great formal job offer
Friday - We accepted
Saturday - We confirmed flight plans and booked our moving truck
That following Friday - The movers came and took our boxes of stuff
Saturday - We flew out of JFK and landed in SLC
The whole thing was a little fast for me. I had a hard time wrapping my mind around the idea that we were moving and was even more scattered brained as I tried to get things done knowing our lives would be completely different in a week. I felt really mixed emotions. I had been looking forward to moving and had been dreaming about bigger apartments, yards, kitchens and living closer to family, etc. But now that it was real I was feeling so sad that we wouldn't be living in NYC to host friends and family who wanted to check out the area. Even worse, I felt like I was taking my baby away from her home. I already miss our walks through our neighborhood park, so I'm glad for the plethora of great walking spots here. We are so happy to be closer to family and to be living in such a beautiful city with more viable opportunities for outdoor adventures.
Yeah, it's a mixed bag, but the overall feeling is calm, good, and right.
We look forward to seeing you all in Salt Lake City, Utah. Get ready for a whole new photographic journalism of our adventures in this lovely neck of the woods.
