La Carbonara

Friday night we went out with some friends, who had served their missions in Italy, to an Italian restaurant.  La Carbonara on 14th street. They are fans of  carbonara and so we all had to try a bit and, yes, it is delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and it was surprisingly empty when we entered, though full when we left. The food was wonderful as well as the service and I would highly recommend it.
We went out to dinner in the middle of a snow storm but that didn't stop us from heading up to Times Square for some great pictures. (On the left is from Zach's office earlier in the day.)

Happy Monday everyone.

Downtown Philly Cheesesteaks

For dinner Monday night we indulged in some delicious DP. Holly recommended it and rightly so. Truly delicious!

This, believe it or not, was the only picture taken the entire week that had all of us in it at the same time. Pretty sad, but pretty amazing that we all fit.

I always enjoy doing fun things with my family.

Happy Friday everyone!

Snow Time

These are our sleds; boogy boards and a broken down box. All worked very well.

Hanging out with family is pretty great. Thursday night was full of great sledding, laughing and chatting.

Happy Thursday everyone!

Sledding Hill

I got to spend a little less than a week in Utah before my sister, Kimberly, entered the MTC. She leaves today and I am so excited for her.
I flew into Utah Wednesday night, late. So when I saw that Ricky was home sick on Thursday I made him take me up on the offer to hang out and scope out the sledding hill with me.  We made a mini snow man and tested the hill with a broken sled. Definitely too powdery for a real fast run.

That night however was nice and icy. It had melted just enough in the day to create a nice slick crust. I was too big of a wimp to go down more than twice and designated myself the camera woman of the night. Holly was kind enough to teach me a few tricks, so I hope to improve my picture taking skills a little faster.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Week 16

Well we are on week 16. Next week will be the possible gender unveil. We will definitely be finding out as soon as we can, because we are just too excited to wait for anything more than we have to with this huge first for us.
My dad and I are going to have a competition to see who is wider around in 5 months. Right now he is winning, but I think I'm making a pretty valiant effort over here.
I finally made my first pregnancy wear purchases with the help of my mom. Shopping with someone who has "been there, done that" really makes a big difference. Its pretty obvious we are still incredibly excited over here.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Barcelona, Spain

My middle baby sister, Megan, was called to serve a mission in Spain, Barcelona! She will be speaking Spanish and reporting to the Spain MTC in June.

That means I will have two sisters out in the mission field working to bring the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Spain and Chicago. For more of what that means go HERE. I am so jealous of all the people and companions they will get to spend time with. I am also so excited to live vicariously through both of them. I know they will have similar experiences as well as widely different ones and I am excited to hear about it all. Of course I will have to share with you every now and again. It's what proud sister do.

Happy Thursday everyone!
