We are hanging out with this guy for the last time before he heads of to Zimbabwe to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Have a great time Elder Allen!

Cold Front
Well it is all over Facebook and the news, fall has officially arrived. I would say that only in Rexburg would we get snow in early October, but considering that about 70% of the states are experiencing the same phenomenon, I will just be grateful we were able to enjoy the warm weather as long as we did.
So between classes we hunkered down with some hot chocolate and 'Modern Family'.
Last night Zach got together with some old roommates and other Montana friends for their second flag football game of the season. They walked away with a slippery and wet second win! They are two for two. I feel like this will be their championship year! Keep it up 'Big Sky'!

Across the Border
This weekend was quite an exciting one for me. I have been across the California/Mexico border a few times, but this was my first time crossing into Canada. Zach and I left for Montana late Thursday night so we could journey with the rest of the Allens Friday morning.

The drive was quite splendid. Zach and I got to drive his grandparents up, which meant a few hours of quality visiting. Not only was the company great, the scenery was amazing. Fall is really starting to show up north.
Our purpose in driving up to Montana was for Brock to go through the temple before he leaves on his mission next week. The closest temple is in Cardston. This temple is unlike any I had been to, so it was new and exciting for more than one of us. To learn more about Mormon Temples click HERE.
The rest of the weekend was spent listening to the leaders of our church speak to us. General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints is held twice a year. I always love hearing what they have to say and how I am filled with a renewed determination to follow our Father in Heaven's great plan of happiness. For more on that click HERE.

One Heck of a Weekend
Paige pulled in Friday evening to kick off this party of a weekend. We started it off with a good "Getting Blasted" session and a Taco Bell picnic.
After which we enjoyed walking around Rexburg and the busy farmers market.
After many parking lot conversations, good eats and a movie we enjoyed some good Urick company. Oh, need I tell you how wonderful the movie we saw was? We saw 'Money Ball' starring Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill. I am not one for enjoying the slow game of baseball and even I was in love with the story and the entire concept of the movie. Moral of the story: Go see Money Ball!
Saturday we got down and sandy at the dunes! This time there was no fire which meant no cops were required. While enjoying the sand we buried Tate and made him look like a midget while Brock made tunnels and alien sculptures. It was quite the grand ole time.
After the sandy fun we headed to DQ for food and had a picnic at Smith park. It was a good day for relaxing in the shade and swinging on the swings.
This weekend, like all, sadly came to a close. Sunday evening Paige headed back home and Monday morning Brock will leave us. We had such a good time laughing and reminiscing with Paigy and Brocky and we can not wait to see the both of you in these exciting upcoming weeks!

Beginning of Fall
Today is the first day of fall and I am so excited. I love just about everything that comes with autumn. I especially love the weather, the fall colors and the clothing it calls for.
We are just so happy to be back in school.
Okay so all you BYU kids are familiar with the campus clock that tells the hour and plays hymns periodically throughout the day. Well we have joined you in that area. The only thing is, I have no idea where the clock is... well we think its coming from the Taylor quad which is under construction... but I have never seen a clock.
Even though I have no idea where this mystery clock dwells, I have thoroughly enjoyed its music.
This weekend is going to be pretty awesome. Brock and Paige are coming to hang out! This picture is us about a year ago. We are glad to hang out with them as much as possible before Brock leaves for Zimbabwe and we move far away. We just love our Brocky and Paigy time!

First Week of School
This is the first week of our last year of school. With anxieties towards the future we are so excited to be on the last leg of this journey.
Today has been the first day that feels like fall. We woke up to cloudy skies and opted for the car when it started to come down pretty hard. Here it is at 11:00 and it is still going steady.
Zach has been working as a security guard like he did last year. It is here in Rexburg this time so we have been enjoying pick-nicks in the back of the truck. I even attempted a home made tomato soup with all of our fresh little tomatoes. I think it was a success.
While we have been experimenting with new foods, I tried making some homemade Horchata. I thought it was sooo good! I might do a little less sugar next time, but really got close to the real deal.
